Why does my automatic car judder when I set off?
A faulty spark plug could cause the engine to misfire. Any halt in the ignition of the fuel-air mixture could cause the engine to halt momentarily – resulting in a judder. These cables connect distributors to the ignition coil. If a fault develops then ignition failure can occur.

Why does my Honda Jazz shudder when pulling away?
I’ve got a Honda Jazz, which has done about 35k miles in 5 years. It’s an automatic and I think it’s the 1.4 SE version. I’m not sure how long it has been doing this for, however when pulling away from stationary in traffic for example, the car tends to audibly vibrate/shudder for a few seconds.
When did my Honda Jazz start to judder?
I’ve had a July 2004 CVT Jazz from new, it’s always been serviced correctly and driven with mechanical sympathy. In March 2008 it developed the judder. Armed with knowledge from the internet I approached a local Honda dealer.
When did Honda drop the CVT on the jazz?
The Honda Jazz CVT issue continued up until the end of 2008 when the new model was launched and Honda dropped the CVT and reverted back to the old 4 speed auto. It’s impossible to say what the chances of failure are, other than to say that it is not uncommon for them to fail.
