Are Bama tunes CARB legal?
Our Bama Tunes don’t affect your vehicles emissions or smog testing. Such modifications are only permitted on vehicles intended for off-road use only.
Is Bama and SCT the same?
SCT Pre-Loaded Tunes are designed for stock or lightly modified vehicles (cold air kits, exhaust systems, gear ratio changes etc.) and are not customized to your driving style and vehicle’s modifications. At Bama Performance, we have complete control over your vehicle’s PCM Custom Tuning Software.
Do you need a tune for 91 octane?
Premium Member There is no difference in HP between 91 and 93 octane UNLESS you have had your car tuned for 91 octane but can NOW get 93 octane. Well just putting in the 93 octane won’t give you any more HP. You need to get the car retuned for the higher octane gas.
Can a tune pass smog?
Here’s a good reminder to anyone running a tuned car out in California: As of today, July 19, the state’s notoriously strict smog testing will automatically fail any car when it detects modified software onboard, aka, a tuned ECU. Drivers can’t register a car in the state unless it’s passed a smog check.
What are preloaded tunes?
A Preloaded Tune is a DYNO Proven tune file, created by our calibrators, that INCREASES HORSEPOWER and TORQUE! A Dyno Tune is created by going to a speed shop/tuner in person with your vehicle, putting it on the dyno and having the tuner dial it in, in real time.
How do you use a Bama tuner?
Instructions:
- Plug the BAMA X4 into the OBDII port of your car.
- Select “Program Vehicle” from the Main Menu.
- Press “Continue” to accept the disclaimer.
- Follow the device prompt to cycle the key to the ON position to setup the device for flashing.
What octane is E40?
For instance, E40 has an octane of 98, based on 105 for E85 and 93 with 10% ethanol.
