What happened to Emmeryn?
In the alternate future, Emmeryn was assassinated in the surprise attack by Validar, leading to the eventual ruin of the future. By leaving, however, Gangrel uses this opportunity to besiege the lightly guarded capital. Her longtime friend, the Hierarch, betrayed her and an ambush was set at the Breakneck Pass.

How do you get Gangrel?
To recruit Gangrel, you have to talk to him with Chrom three times. The challenge is that a strong Chrom with a powerful weapon will take out Gangrel before you can complete the action three times. To ensure that Gangrel lasts three rounds, head to the fort that blocks the path to the northwest section.
Is Emmeryn playable?
Emmeryn is the older sister of Chrom and Lissa, and the Exalt of Ylisse. Emmeryn can be recruited via the paralogue P20 A Hard Miracle. Simply talk to her with Chrom (other characters can also talk to her, but Chrom is vital). If she survives the mission, she will join the party.
Can you save Emmeryn?
Take in your heavy characters and wipe him out. Finishing off the boss gives you a shield you can use to boost strength. After you beat the boss there will be a story bit and this is a HUGE SPOILER TURN BACK NOW IF YOU DON’T WANT STORY SPOILERS. You will have a choice to Sacrifice Emmeryn or to not.

Upon the Shepherds’ return from Ferox, Emmeryn receives word that Plegian bandits attacked Themis and kidnapped the duke’s daughter, Maribelle. Despite Chrom and Phila ‘s protests, Emmeryn tries to parley with Gangrel. Gangrel demands the Fire Emblem in return for Maribelle, but she refuses, as she is aware of his ill intentions.
How did Gangrel get Emmeryn off the Horn?
Gangrel planned to execute Emmeryn by pushing her off the horn of a large, dragon-like skull located at Plegia Castle grounds. Chrom’s army arrives right before her execution and stops it just in time. As they rush to Emmeryn’s execution spot, Chrom sends in Phila to rescue her, but Aversa then summons Risen Archers to foil the rescue attempt.
Why did Emmeryn throw herself off the cliff?
Gangrel tells Chrom to give up the Fire Emblem or else Emmeryn will be killed. Knowing that Chrom will die if he tries to save her, and that the Emblem is far too important to give to Gangrel, Emmeryn smiles and willingly throws herself off the cliff, much to Chrom and Lissa’s horror, while Gangrel laughs at her apparent death.
