Is ebtech Hum x safe?
The Hum X from Ebtech is a safe and economical way to get rid of ground loop hum. Some devices simply remove the ground, which is never safe. The Hum X is easy to use, easy to install, safe and completely effective.
Where do you put the hum eliminator?
Simply place a channel of the Hum Eliminator™ on the cable connections between the two offending pieces of equipment. Hum Eliminator™ will not affect the quality of the audio, it will improve it. We use 1/4″ smart jacks that accept any combination of unbalanced (TS) or unbalanced (TRS) plugs.
Where do you place a hum eliminator?
Use only on non-powered line level signals. With a rack of amplifiers, we recommend putting an eight channel Hum Eliminator™ in front of your amps inputs so you do not have to solve ground loop problems during sound checks. A common path for ground loops is through a chassis into the rack and then into another chassis.
Will Power Conditioner get rid of hum?
A power conditioner will filter the mains signal to remove any radio-frequency interference plus any incoming spikes and other intermittent noises riding piggyback on the mains signal from the outside world.
How do I get the hum out of my guitar amp?

- Turn up the guitar’s volume and treble controls so that the guitar signal overrides hum and noise picked up by the guitar cable and guitar amp.
- Ask the guitarist to move around, or rotate, to find a spot in the room where hum disappears.
- Flip the polarity switch on the guitar amp to the lowest-hum position.
How do I stop my amp from humming?
Find the dial labeled “Gain” on your amp’s control panel and turn it counterclockwise. Keep turning the dial until you don’t hear the humming sound coming from your amp anymore. If you still hear the amp humming, then there may be an issue with the wiring or the equipment the amp plugs into.
