- Go to The Pensions Regulator website here.
- Enter your business’s PAYE reference.
- Complete the box that asks you to enter the code shown above.
- Click ‘Show my staging date’ button.
How do I change the staging date on Sage Payroll?
If you wish to edit your staging date, return to the Summary screen and click Amend Staging Date….Enter your staging date
- Click Summary.
- Within the Auto Enrolment / Pensions section, enter the Staging Date you’ve received from TPR.
- Click Set Staging Date.
What is a payroll staging date?
The date your employer duties first apply is known as your staging date and it’s based on the number of people in your largest Pay As You Earn (PAYE) scheme on 1 April 2012.
What is NEST staging date?
Automatically enrolled or eligible jobholders. This will be the date your pension duties apply to them. This will be either your staging date or the later date you’ve chosen if you’re using a waiting period or the date the worker becomes an eligible jobholder.
What is my staging date nest?
The worker’s start date will be the 1st of the current month. If the worker asks to join Nest after your payroll cut-off date then their start date will be the first day of the following pay period. These are workers you’ve agreed to enrol early and make contributions for ahead of your staging date.
What is my duty start date?
An employer’s Duties Start Date is the date their first worker begins to be employed. Employers can postpone assessing staff for up to 3 months from their Duties Start Date or from the employee’s start date if they are a new employee. Postponement does not change the legal duties start date however.
Is staging date the same as duties start date?
If your organisation is registered with HMRC on or after 01 October 2017 your staging date or duty start date will be the day you employ your first worker. TPR recommends preparing for your duties 12 months before this date, though this will vary depending on your individual circumstances.
