It will downshift 1,2, or 3 gears depending on speed, to slow vehicle down “downshifting ” this will save ur breaks from alot of wear & tear! Now I got my information rite from the owners manual in my 2000 Honda accord also by driving in both gears it is exactly on point & correct!
What is the point of the D3 gear in an automatic?
My Honda Civic has a D gear and a D3, which apparently prevents it from going into 4th. Why would I want to do this? What is it good for? Does it make my fuel efficiency better or worse? Does it make the transmission’s job easier or wear it out faster? This is analagous to down shifting in a manual.
