Can you mix zerex G 05 with Mopar Hoat?
The underlying chemistry is very different and the 2 should NOT be mixed. Don’t ever put Dexcool in a MOPAR to topoff the original factory coolant. I learned this the hardway–2 water pumps and a leaking front cover gasket. Zerex G05 is compatible with MOPAR coolants and can be mixed with factory fills.
Is zerex G 05 Hoat?
ZEREX™ G05® is the automaker approved original chemistry used in newer Ford®, Chrysler® and Mercedes-Benz® automotive and diesel engines. Its Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) chemistry combines the best of conventional and organic acid-based chemistry to provide the ultimate protection against rust and corrosion.
What color is Mopar Hoat?
Chrysler/Mercedes HOAT is dyed red, but depending on the light and background reflecting through the translucent coolant, it can look pink or orange. As the Mopar HOAT coolant gets older and starts to wear out/break down/collecting solids in it, it tends to turn more orange.
What color is Mopar antifreeze coolant?
It’s my understanding the OAT MS-12106 Mopar antifreeze is supposed to be purple in color. Attached a pic of the antifreeze inside the reservoir.
What is a OAT coolant?
An organic additive technology (OAT) coolant contains only organic corrosion inhibitors such as carboxylates and triazole. These virtually non-depleting corrosion inhibitors give OAT coolants an extended life which can often be for the lifetime of the engine or vehicle.

What happens if you mix OAT and Hoat?
HOAT coolants, like the IAT coolants, require additives mixed back into the coolant system every 25k miles, or as specified by the engine manufacturer. HOAT coolants formulations are not compatible with OAT coolants because they do contain nitrites. They should not be mixed together.
