What should the torque be on a crankshaft pulley?
Loosen the tensioner pulley center bolt. Apply 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm) torque to the tensioner pulley as shown and tighten the center bolt to 32-41 ft. lbs. (43-55 Nm). Remove the auto tensioner retaining pin. Rotate the crankshaft 2 revolutions Clockwise , then wait 5 minutes for the auto tensioner to adjust. Measure the auto tensioner rod as shown.

We demonstrated on a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST but the same engine has been used in cars such as Ford Focus, Ford Fusion, Ford Escape, Ford Mondeo, Ford Galaxy.

– Take the tie-down rope and wrap it around the crankshaft pulley as tight as you can in a clockwise direction. My pulley has 3 pulleys so I used the middle pulley. Tie-down should make about 4 or 5 loops around pulley.
