- Download a crack file here which you will need to launch the game without cd: censored.
- copy and paste the crack file (heroes3.exe) into your Heroes directory.
- Now you will be able to launch the game but you will hear a lot of errors if you try to play the game.

You can switch to windowed mode by pressing F4. But, your desktop has to be set to 16-bit (I think) color mode before this will work.
