Why is my Yukon having trouble filling the gas tank?
I am having trouble filling the gas tank on my Yukon. In order to fill the tank I have to run the nozzle VERY slowly. If I try to set the lever lock, it keeps kicking the nozzle off. It started as an occasional problem.

What happens when you fill the gas tank on a Yukon?
This valve is part of the charcoal canister EVAP system. It essentially stays closed during normal operation, this allows gas fumes from the canister to be drawn into the engine for reburning when you start the engine. However, when you fill the tank, the air in the tank must go somewhere.

… I am wondering if this is a unique problem to my Yukon XL or if it is wide spread one. When I filling up the tank, the handle clicks off (like it is full) at least five times during a fill up. I know it isn’t full because I have only put in about 5 gallons when it happens the first time.

Then cause the evaporative system to stop working as it should. (Clog the air flow.) I hope someone has had the same problem.
