Where can you land an ultralight?
There’s no requirement that ultralights operate from airports, so they can take off and land in private fields or wherever it is safe to do so.
Can you log hours in an ultralight?
No, you can’t log hours in non certificated aircraft; i.e. ultralights.
What airspace can an ultralight fly in?
No person may operate an ultralight vehicle within Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D airspace or within the lateral boundaries of the surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport unless that person has prior authorization from the ATC facility having jurisdiction over that airspace.

How long can the ultralight trike fly on one tank of gas? The duration of one tank of gas depends on your wing type and trike engine. Trikes usually fly 150 miles on a 5 gallon tank of gas and up to 300 miles on the 12 gallon tank.
Does flight time in an ultralight count?
If you have aspirations to fly for an airline, none of the ultralight time will count as far as they are concerned. So you should not put it in your log book, as it will look like you are trying to “pad” your log book to make your experience seem more impressive.
Do ultralight aircraft need to be registered?

Are there any airparks that are ultralight friendly?
There is an airpark just west of hiway 99. It is composed mainly of ultralights and has Fletcher’s Aviation on the field. Many ultralighter’s are there almost every weekend. The field is not to be confused with the Turlock metro airfield which is about five or six miles away to the east if I remember correctly.
Is there an Ultralight Instructor on the field?
There is a full time ultralight instructor on the field with aircraft, sometimes spare parts if needed, and plenty of knowledge. I see Challengers, Beavers, Quicksilvers, Flight Stars, and many other ultralights there every weekend.
