Anahola Beach Park is frequented mostly by locals and is one of the safest for swimming on the east side. An offshore reef affords protection from high waves most of the year. You can park near the beach and easily walk to the ocean where a sandy bottom and gentle slope offer easy access to the water.

Is Mahaulepu beach open?
Beach access closes at 6pm. Hours are strictly enforced by the landowner that allows public access at their own risk. Mahaulepu is popular with locals and visitors, including wind surfers, swimmers, snorkelers, fishermen (or women) and sunbathers.

The water was very shallow and parts almost un-swimmable for snorkeling as too shallow. The views of the mountains are great on this beach and they do have rest rooms. The centre and left part of the beach looked good for swimming with a low surf. If you are looking for some piece and quiet and chilling, this would be a beach to visit.
Are there parking areas at Anahola Beach Park?
There are two parking areas and it is important to note that they are not paved. We went during the rainy season and there were quite a few mud puddles (most were 4 inches or less depth). It was no problem for us in our Jeep, but I can imagine smaller cars could struggle after heavy rain.
