Are all AK magazines compatible?
Not all. There are some models that are California legal and will only accept single stack 10-round magazines. For the rest of the AK variants, they should accept all standard AK-47 magazines. There will be tolerance variations that may cause issues in some guns.
Are Tapco AK mags good?

Can you leave AK mags loaded?
Using the spring (loading and unloading the magazine) frequently will cause it to wear out as well. Some springs may stay loaded for decades and still function, and others might wear out after a much shorter period of time. So just to be safe, the best practice is to rotate the magazines periodically.
Will AR mags fit in AK pouches?
7.62×39 (ak47), 5.45(ak74, and 5.56(ar15) mags all fit perfectly in this mag pouch. Polymer mags fit snugly, and do not need the flaps closed for retention. Metal mags will need the flaps closed due to being thinner.

Natural Curve: AKM rounds are much broader near the bottom and gradually taper towards the tip. So when stacked together they naturally curve- much like a stack of files that start to bend forward when stacked together. Hence these rounds pack more efficiently & ‘flow’ easily in a curved magazine.
