At Lakeshore Central, the best sites are the ones on the water – 502, 503, 505, 506, 508, 510, 512 and 513. These ones go fast and are usually booked well ahead of time (actually just checked and all these sites are fully booked all through the summer and most of September.)

There are 2 dog beaches I believe, one on either side of the main beach. There were no canoe/kayak rentals happening while we were there. The best (most private) sites would be on the water with lots of shade and privacy (sites 200-207 in Fir campground) but I’m sure those are fully booked months in advance.

Park is bike friendly too, as you can bike along the lake (outside the park as well) and local country roads with very little traffic. About 20 minutes away is an abandoned railway bed that has been turned into a hiking/biking trail.
