In Metro Atlanta, there are currently 11 KIPP schools–including four elementary schools, five middle schools, one high school, and one partnership school–as well as our alumni support program, KIPP Forward, which supports alumni through college, career, and beyond.

What is wrong with KIPP?
No individuality is permitted at Kipp and anyone who does not toe the line is ridiculed, punished and/or expelled. This is why an independent three year study of KIPP schools found they have an extremely high attrition rate. Out of every 100 students, more than 60 either drop out or are expelled within three years.
Why is KIPP bad?
High attrition rates may stem from the fact that students at KIPP schools are more likely to be suspended, which may encourage families to move their children to schools where they are not as heavily disciplined or punished. A high attrition rate also suggests that the KIPP model of education is not universal.
