Can I drop UROP?
You must add (register) UROP credit as you would a class, no later than the Drop Date for the given semester. If you decide to cancel (drop) your Credit UROP, remember to Drop it from your registration no later than Drop Dateand to cancel your UROP application in the online system or send email to [email protected].
How many units is a UROP?
One MIT unit represents one hour of effort per week, averaged across a 15-week term. So a 12-unit UROP during fall or spring term represents ~180 hours of effort.
How many credits do you need for UROP?
UROP Compensation Students can earn 2-4 academic credits per term. Work-study students who have applied and accepted their Financial Aid work-study package will receive 1 academic credit per term and hourly compensation. Federal work-study is a financial aid program for students who have financial need.
Do you get paid for UROP?
The minimum hourly rate for UROP in AY2021-22 will be $14.25/hour. If requesting direct funding, you may request up to a total of: $1,995 (140 total hours) in fall and spring, and $6,840 (480 total hours) for the summer. Any approved materials and services amounts are listed within your approved paid UROP application.
Is UROP a work experience?
A UROP research experience is not paid employment. A registered UROP research experience ensures that participants from within and outside Imperial College are hosted appropriately.
How many hours is a UROP?
UROP Funding. UROP student should work no more than 40 hours per week as UROP does not have a budget to support premium wages (e.g. overtime hours). Students funded by UROP should not work more than a total of 40 hours a week during the summer.
At what time do FSU decisions come out?
Students who complete an application and submit all supporting documents by November 1, 2021 will receive an admission decision online on February 17, 2022. Students who complete an application after November 1, 2021 will receive an admission decision on a rolling basis starting in March.
