Why is one side of my HID light not working?

Only one side is working on my HID kit or LED kit. If one side sometimes doesn’t turn on it could be caused by a bad bulb, HID ballast, LED driver or wiring. To help identify which component is defective follow these steps. Swap the ignitors to opposing sides (not applicable for LED kits). If the problem is reversed, you might have a bad ignitor.

This problem can be caused by many issues including a defective headlight bulb, corroded socket, loose bulb, bad ignitor, the faulty ground connection, among others. HID Xenon bulbs do not possess any filament, hence, they may leak or crack very easily, especially when they fail.

Headlights are very vital for your safety when you are driving at night. If they don’t work properly, or do not aim as they should, visibility will be poor and you won’t have the opportunity of seeing the road perfectly. But there are times that they will malfunction and you will need to troubleshoot headlights.

What to do if your EZGO headlight bulb is blown out?

When your EZGO headlight bulb is blown out, replacing the bulb is required. It is important to get a bulb with the same voltage, as mentioned in the manual. Getting and installing an incorrect bulb will result in other serious issues. Discard the blown-out bulb. Get a bulb with the same voltage. Refer to the instructions manual.

What to do if your head light is not working?

If your headlights aren’t as bright as they used to be, yank one of the bulbs and look for gray or brown residue on the glass. If you find any, replace both bulbs now and get back to seeing more of the road.
