Why does my GMC Acadia blow hot air?
1. Started car one day and the AC unit was “dead”, did not light up. 2. The AC unit worked later that day, in that it was blowing air…however, now it’s acting crazy. The driver side vents are blowing cool (not cold) and the passenger side is blowing HOT. 3. I took it in for an oil change (at GMC) and asked the guy to look at it.
Where does the a / C blow hot air and cold air?
Anyone else experience the A/C blowing hot air from the drivers side left vent and the left most center vent and cold air from passenger’s right most center vent and right vent? What model year? You may be low on refrigerant.
Is there cold air coming out of the passenger side?
WOW! part numbers 80321-shj-a02 and 80341-shj-a01. The “low freon” speculation…needs to be investigated. I suspect the cold air coming out of the passenger side is plenty cold, which would not be possible with a freon leak. Before bringing it into the shop, check out the driver’s side air mix motor.
Why does a BMW blow warm air on the passenger side?
Speaking of blowing warm on one side, BMWs seem to default to warm on the passenger’s side. Not sure if it’s designed that way to keep the driver cool at the expense of the other cabin occupants, but there you go. There’s a YouTube video on this.

The driver side is stuck on cold. Passenger side controls work flawlessly and will change as quickly as I change the temp. Driver side has zero fluctuation. I’m going to try these steps when I get home. Just in case my fuse numbers are different, we’re there any names/tags associated with those particular fuses?
