The series was pulled (due to low ratings) after 10 of the 11 episodes had aired. For a short time, it looked like the show could return for a second season. ABC executives seemed to like the show and it had a devoted fanbase. Unfortunately, Sons and Daughters was officially cancelled on May 15, 2006.
