Is there a problem with my VW Golf?
I have a similar intermittent problem with my 1999 V reg golf. The revs run high when running (1400 or so) and sometimes leap and stick at 3000! The only cure is to pull in, switch off and restart a couple of minutes later. Sometimes the opposite happens, when the engine just cuts out when dropping the clutch.
Why does my Volkswagen Golf judder when idling?
Regards Peter its ok sometimes when not idling, when im going down the motorway it starts to judder at times, i stay in the slow lane because im not sure when its going to do it, unpredictable to say the least is how the car runs, could it actually be the ecu being faulty causing the problem or have i wasted more money?

Common fault that causes the gearbox to go on to neutral during driving and the “PRNDS” light to flash.
Yes its the twin-charged engine. With it doing these things at very low revs does this suggest that it is the supercharger rather than the turbo? Also i’ve been having problems recently where when the engine warms up the turbo only boosts to half boost pressure. Maybe this has caused the current problem?
Are there any recalls on VW Golf GTI?
In March 2017, a recall was issued for 2009 and 2010 model year Volkswagen Golf vehicles. In these vehicles, thermal overload within the ABS/ESC control unit could interrupt the current flow and this could prevent the ABS and ESC systems from functioning as intended; a warning light would also illuminate on the dashboard.
What causes a VW Golf to go into neutral?
This could cause the temperature sensor to incorrectly detect high gearbox oil temperatures and activate the clutch protection function – this would illuminate a flashing gear warning light and cause 1) juddering of the vehicle, 2) a reduction in engine torque, and 3) opening of the clutch (as if the gearbox were in ‘neutral’).
Is there a recall on VW Golf 34j5?
AustralianCar.Reviews understands that the recalled vehicles had seven-speed DQ200 DSG transmissions. In April 2020, recall campaign 34J5 was issued for Volkswagen Mk.6 Golf vehicles that had seven-speed dual clutch (‘DSG’) transmissions. In these vehicles, a fluid leak could lead to a loss of pressure in the gearbox.
