Why is the rear hatch on my Touareg not opening?
I have a 2013 TDI LUX TOUAREG. Ran into this problem when i hooked up my ~4600lb boat and the rear of the tregg kinda squated and my automatic rear door won’t open. When i took my boat off the hitch the rear hatch started working again. Not sure if they have some sort of leveling feature but my tregg did not come with air ride suspension.
Why is the liftgate not working on my 2011 Touareg?
Rear hatch power liftgate has stopped working. 2011 does not have separate motor for liftgate, motors are built into the struts. I hit the button on the remote, truck itself or at the driver’s door and it unlocks and pops open but the lift motors do not do anything. I checked the fuse and its fine.
Are there any problems with the rear hatch?
There are only a few Technical Bulletin’s talking about the rear hatch problems but those were on 2004 models. Download them and have a read you might pickup some useful tips. Problem is back and worst than before, motors are completely dead. Will probably just replace them with manually operated liftgate supports.
What should I do if my rear hatch does not open?
Disconnected the connectors from the rear hatch lock actuator and from the rear hatch switch. With a meter verified that pin #1 of the switch connect reads to ground, and that pin #1 of the actuator connector reads to ground. Measured 11.1 volts at pin #2 of the rear hatch switch.
Where do I go to troubleshoot rear hatch tailgate?
I’ve also run a jumper wire from the yellow (with blue stripe) wire and the brown ground wire at the microswitch directly to the corresponding wires in the control module, trying to eliminate the possibility of a broken wire in the harness through the hinge. That didn’t do anything either. Where do I go from here?
Why is the hatch on my Honda CRV not opening?
For information, the MCIU requires all doors to be unlocked as a requirement to open the hatch. The knob switch in each door sends that signal to the MCIU. In my case the unlock signal from the front passenger side knob switch was missing because the connector was not fully inserted. Good job finding the fix!
