So my 89 gave up the ghost without warning on the freeway recently, and I had my friend’s dad come over and help me diagnose it. After doing basic checks for spark, we found that while there was power to the coil, there was no spark coming from it, so we checked to make sure it wasn’t just a bad ignition wire and that checked out ok.
