The second most common cause is fuel contamination, usually dirt and rust particles that clog the fuel strainer and prevent the pump from drawing enough fuel under high engine load.

How can I tell if my fuel pump is bad?
There is no way of telling if its bad unless you have a fuel pressure gauge on it. I would suggest putting new filters on it. Make sure you do them both. And if its is the fuel pump I can show you what to do with the old one
