Why is my FSI not working on my Volkswagen Golf?
Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB). There is a vacuum capsule on the cars right of the inlet manifold and these can snap their operating arm or the diaphragm inside can fail so the flap does not move and the potentiometer at the other end does not see it move and this feeds back to the ECU as an error.

This is a known FSI issue and provided you can pin someone down at your VW garage that has the knowledge, the fact that this is a recognised fault even on low -mileage cars may hopefully work in your favour despite being out of warranty. The positioner is not filling with oil at the correct rate.
