Can you restart a seized engine?
If your engine has seized up while you’re driving, there’s nothing you can do about it short of an intensive engine repair or replacement. Fill the cylinders with engine oil and let it sit for a few days. Then, try turning the engine over with a breaker bar. If it moves, you may be able to salvage the engine.

Engine idles regularly, in neutral the engine can be revved up with no problem. When car is put into reverse or drive, the engine sputters and then seizes up and dies. Check engine and oil light comes on after car engine dies.
Why does my engine die when the blade is engaged?

I forget to put it in “park” before shutting off the engine. It’s a habit learned from driving manual transmissions where you want to park it in first gear. It does absolutely no harm to the engine or transmission.
