Is there a problem with the trunk latch on my VW EOS?
I have a 2008 Eos with about 25,000 miles. When the car was nearly out of warranty, the trunk latch began to malfunction. I would pull the switch in the door panel, then get out to open the trunk, and it wouldn’t open. I had to stand next to the trunk with the key remote in hand and press that button to open the trunk.

Why is the boot lock not working on my VW EOS?
Having just returned home from the supermarket, roof down, she opened to boot and took out the shopping. On closing the boot lid, she noticed a piece of plastic fall off, but momentum meant the boot went down and it latched. But it didn’t do the second stage of pulling the lid tightly closed.

The only way I can open the trunk is to stand next to it and use the key then open it. It is a waist of time trying to use the one on the door, I can’t run fast enough to get there before it locks again. Very annoying. Wish I knew how to fix it too.
