Why does my Honda HRV not start up?
I press the brake and press the start button and it doesnt turn over. Trying it again,the brake pedal is hard to depress ,press the start button and still nothing happens. If I press the start button and put the key fob ,while pressing lock on the fob,the car will start.
How do you stop a Honda HRV car?
Get to junction on a slope with traffic lights at the top. Engage brake assist. Car stops and is held. Put car in neutral, take foot off clutch, engine stops. It restarts when clutch is depressed again in prep for pulling off. I always leave my car in gear when I leave it at journeys end so don’t have the second problem you mention.

Is there a problem with the push button start on a Honda HRV?
I actually don’t have issues with the doors, car responds to the keyfob quite well. It’s starting the car with the push button start that is the issue. I have a 2018 EX manual trans.

Power to the shift interlock solenoid is provided by Fuse #5 in the driver’s under-dash relay center. Check fuses #10, 17, and 5 first. Then check for ground on the black wire at the shift interlock solenoid with key in the RUN position and foot on the brake. If you don’t see ground, the ECM/PCM isn’t providing ground.
