How long do reefer trailers last?
There is no hard fast number, but we generally consider a reefer to be “older” at 20,000 hours, and wouldn’t rely on anything above 30,000 hours. Manufacturers routinely claim their reefer units will last 40,000 hours, but that’s a lot like a car with 300,000 miles.
How hot can a reefer trailer get?
A refrigerated container has an impressive temperature range. The range stretches -65˚c to 40˚c or -85˚f to 104˚f. This range makes reefer trailers suitable for a wide range of temperature-sensitive cargo, from fresh produce to hazardous chemical and more.
When does the TriPac shut off when Freon is low?
The TriPac will shut off if the freon is low, but it will also do this if the switch at the back of the cab is not working or has a bad connection or corrosion on its pins. With as little freon as the system holds if it is really low you need to find where it is leaking and fix that 1st.
When do I add TriPac to my truck?
The fitting on the hose from the can will only fit one connection, so it is pretty foolproof. You need to add it while the ac is on, engine running. Dont add too much or it could blow the compressor etc. Most have a safety valve these days, but not familiar with the Tripac system myself. Cummimgs Trucking LLC Thanks this.
Can you put Freon in a tri Pak?
You can dip the can in a bowl of hot water to re warm and raise pressure again. I honestly doubt youll need to do that with the small amount of freon your putting in, but just in case. Also, set the Tri Pak to its coldest AC setting (50F) and turn the fan on its highest setting while your adding freon.
