2005 Honda Element did not come standard with remote keyless entry. Rather than replace failed key cylinder, install remote (for CRV). Only compatible plug on wiring harness, behind the access panel, under right of driver’s side below dash.

Upon searching the web I came to realize the car is already wired for keyless entry and just needed this kit. There is an access panel under the steering wheel. 2 half turn tabs. Remove it and look for the 2 green plugs above the dead pedal (foot rest). Plug the box into the smaller green plug, and you’re DONE!
