When does the splitter on my truck wont split?
Discussion in ‘ Trucks ‘ started by Copenhagen, Aug 25, 2007 . About twice a day, my splitter wont split from low range to high. Of course it usually happens when I am loaded going up a hill with traffic behind me. Being a newer driver, is this a common problem or does my truck have issues?
Is the International splitter good for off road?
The International is horrible off-road. Low diesel and air tanks and the radiator line that runs between the frame and right front spring are killing me. I am shopping around right now to find something a little more suited for steep climbs and rough roads.
Is there a way to shift a splitter?
The only way I ever shifted one is with the dynatard on, so the motor drops in less than 10 minutes between shifts. It takes a special breed to actually like them, kind of like Gomer Pyle on Valium, to be specific. The whole truck is getting ditched soon.
Can a Maxidyne splitter start in high range?
You couldn’t start off in high range if you tried, unless you had a downhill, rolling start and you knew enough to synchronize your speed to the rpm with Copenhagen’s setup anyways… I always hated a Maxidyne transmission with a deep, dark special kind of hate only found in certain individuals.
Is there a red splitter on a 13spd shift knob?
BoxCarKidd Thanks this. There is a downloadable manual on google that has trouble shooting guide in it. Lets start at the top, a 13spd shift knob has a red splitter button , trace these lines down to the fittings on the trans.
Why is transmission not engaging on high side 7-9?
Not engaging on high side 7-9, I was told there are lines crossed. I have changed air dryer and governor. Lines switched around, and either I have correct air pressure and sleeper air bags and no shifter, or shifter and losing air pressure down to 60.
Why does my hi-lo transmission not shift high?
The Hi-Lo splitter has an air operated valve there that could be bad, so you may have to replace that first and try. I don’t think that valve is very expensive. I bought a truck a few years ago that would not shift into high range.
