Fault Code Diagnostics ZF Meritor’s SureShift transmission control unit (TCU) uses a series of fault codes to identify system malfunctions that the TCU detects and stores into memory. Each fault code that the TCU lists on the instrument panel display is preceded by either “ “ for an active fault or “ ” for an inactive fault.
