Are there any issues with the Mack MP8?
It has the 505 MP8. Just be aware they are known for having injector issues. Even the new common rail design that came out last year might not of fixed the issue. Still too early to tell.
How many horses does a Mack MP8 have?
Most engines try to not do any work for fuel mileage. This one appears to be 500+ horses and 1850 torque you can have on hand all day long in any gear depending on where you are on the RPM gauge. I would not mind giving this one a go.

Yes,but that seems light compared to the Cummins and Detroit problems I keep reading about.Called Mack today to get a price on injector cups-$1300,with injectors-$3000.Labor included in that price. Depending on where in the country you’re looking at $5,000-6,000 for injectors installed. (that includes cups since they sell injectors in a 6 pack).

Are there any problems with the MP8 Motors?
One set of cups went bad on a 2011 (that truck was rolled has been problems ever seance) other then that the MPs have been awesome. sensor failed here and there and a couple def pumps. They do as well or better than what else is out there. For mixed on-off road, a 415C or 445C should do well.
