Are there any problems with my 2005 DT 466?
Hello I bought my 2005 4300 dt 466 in may of 2012. Since then I have put close to fifty thousand in to it and still having problems, please help. May 12th replaced fan drive was not engaging at 210 degrees, replaced power steering pump wheel was whining turning both ways.
Why does my DT466 start harder cold than hot?
To answer your voltage question, that’s EXACTLY what is likely causing your problem. On a cold engine it takes more battery power to crank the engine compared to a HOT engine, so it starts harder cold – we all know that.
What makes a DT466 diesel truck go limp?
The engine is new, the injectors are all new, the MAP Sensor is new, the Baro Sensor is new, the Cam Sensor is new, the High Pressure Oil Pump is new, the fuel sensor and regulators are new, the computer is new. The truck will crank, and then go into a limp mode and blow tons of white smoke out of the stack. Any ideas would be appreciated.
How often does a DT466 give up the ghost?
The only difference betwene the two is how light your pocket will be. If its not the issue youre only out 25 or 30 bucks. Had mine go a couple times they usualy give up the ghost every 50,000 to 100,000 as long as you dont run too hot and driving conditions.
What kind of engine does a 2005 International 4300 DT 466 have?
Here is a little more info. 2005 international 4300 dt 466 trimmed y 225 hp. Single drive axel, 6 speed manual with air brake and air ride. I know it sounds weird, but have you checked your ride hgt?
What to do if your DT466 fires right off?
Try putting a battery charger on it, 12V low or Med at most, if it THEN fires right off, you’ve got a bad connection somewhere in the ECM or IPR circuits- This is VERY common. Thanks for all the input guys, I think I may have an idea what’s happening, correct me if I’m off track.
Is the IH 4300 DT466 getting hard to start?
I have an 05 IH 4300 DT466 with 131K miles on it. I have had a small problem with it before, usually first thing in the AM. But now it doesn’t want to start no matter what time of the day it is. If its been sitting for any length of time it cranks and will finally start after about 45 seconds.
Is the dt466e a lack of power?
The second you put it in gear it has no power. 20 mph top speed. Tested fuel pressure today at the filter. It is only reading 40 lbs at idle and it dips down to 34 or so when accelerating. I assume this is a fuel problem, but what is the problem and where do we start? Thanks in advance if anyone has done this one.
How many times has DT466 truck broken down?
The guy at Southland International (where we have it had recently towed twice) said it that neither time were there any active codes, only inactive codes and “one triangle” which he said meant service work would soon be needed. So now it has broken down 4 times with the exact same symptoms.
What makes a 2003 International 4300 sputter and Miss?
I have a 2003 International 4300 with a DT466. I just had all the O-rings on the injectors replaced along with the wiring harness that goes to the injectors. Now once the truck gets up to running temp it starts to sputter/miss. Truck runs GREAT cold but once warm gets worse.
Are there any problems with the International 4400 DT466?
Running the wrong software for this engine could have done more damage than just an O-ring. The engine was not operating under the specs designed by the engineers. The software operates many facets of the engine’s operation, any of which could have contributed to the problem for which I am requesting retribution.
Why does my dt466e diesel engine not start?
DT466E international diesel wont start… Will it stay running, after you ether it? Or does it just die out again? Do you have access to a scanner, any engine light on? Does the tach read while you are cranking? Can you use the hand primer on the filter base to try and prime system, if it does not get hard to pump you are most likely sucking air.
Is the DT466 loss of power really that bad?
It had very slow acceleration and it would die quickly when going up hills. it seemed to struggle heavily on hills actually. The clutch is fine, just got adjusted about a month ago, no smoke, just low power. Air filter is clean. Oil pressure is good. Temp was fine. No lights came on.
