Look for the serial number on the left side of the transmission case, just above the oil pan gasket surface. The dealer should be able to confirm from that, what transmission you have. If you paid for a 48re, and you have a 47re, tell them to replace the transmission. Hope this helps.

They are all very similar with the same case and most of the same parts. The 32 spine has a big conkin vibration dampener on the output side but that it is. The 23 spline is the most interchangable with everything else. You can also put a Chevy input shaft into a Dodge NV4500 to get a fairly easy chevy install.

The output shaft on the NV4500 is the same size/spline as the NP205 I used. I also used the ‘coupling’ from the NP205 to join them together, and as far as the cases go, it is a direct bolt-together.
