What does code P0880 mean?
Powertrain Control Module
What the P0880 code means. A P0880 indicates that the vehicle’s Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has failed to receive data from the traction control module communication circuit. Among other things, this system allows the vehicle to calculate an engine’s RPM and optimize the delivery of fuel.
What is TCM power input low?
P0882
The P0882 code (TCM Power Input Low) sets when the PCM sees less than three volts on the PCM output wires: pins 19, 28, and 38 on the C4 connector. There are four main reasons for this code to set: Bad connections and wiring on the transmission control or transmission output control wires.
What is Engine code P0888?
P0888 is the OBD-II trouble code indicating a problem with the transmission control relay or else somewhere in the related circuitry. This code is thrown when fewer than three volts are present at the transmission control relay output terminals of the PCM (powertrain control module) as the PCM is energizing the relay.
What is the TCM power input signal?
The transmission control module power input signal tells the ECU that the TCM is able to power up. If there is a low voltage signal on this circuit, not only will the TCM not be able to function properly, a P0882 DTC will be set.

How to diagnose and repair P0882
- Perform a preliminary inspection. Sometimes P0882 can pop up intermittently, or it can result from a dead battery.
- Check for other trouble codes.
- Check the battery.
- Check the TCM/PCM relay.
- Check the fuses.
- Check TCM circuit.
- Repair or replace the TCM.

What Repairs Will Fix P0888?
- Repair or replace damaged wiring and/or connectors.
- Replace transmission control relay.
- Update ECU or TCM software.
How do you fix P0888?
Use contact cleaner if necessary. Replace TCR if necessary. Replace TCR harness if necessary. Replace transmission solenoid/pressure switch assembly if necessary.
What causes a transmission control system code p0880?
As with many other automatic transmission malfunctions, a transmission control system code may be caused by either an electrical or mechanical failure. If the PCM detects a malfunction, MIL illumination should occur and a code P0880 will be stored. An example of a typical TCM transmission control module:
What happens if you have DTC code p0882?
In most vehicles, if the DTC is active the transmission will engage limp mode and will not shift. If P0882 is simply a stored DTC, it’s possible the transmission will shift as designed or it may also engage limp mode, depending on the vehicle affected. How do you troubleshoot code P0882 ?
What does the p0880 code on a PRNDL mean?
The P0880 means the TCM lost power for whatever reason unnaturally, this goes along with the line under your PRNDL going away and being stuck in a limp gear because the TCM is offline, that is also why the ECM set the U0101. Has this happened more than once? Any electrical modifications from stock?
Why does the edge Evo pull the p0880 code?
When i got back home, i checked for DTCs’ and the edge evo still pulls the P0880 and wont erase the code out of itself, but no cel in the dash? Should i assume the truck is ok since the cel is not on? Would the TCM hold the code for a while for some reason or could it just be the programmer?
