What is VTM 4 light?
The Variable Torque Management 4WD System (VTM-4) automatically transfers varying amounts of engine torque to the rear wheels under lower traction conditions. Press the VTM-4 Lock button. The light in the button will come on. To get unstuck, apply light pressure to the accelerator pedal.
How does VTM-4 lock work?
The VTM-4 Lock® feature allows you to manually lock the rear differential in place to get you moving when faced with extreme conditions. By simply pushing the Lock button, you can fully engage four-wheel drive to gain momentum, putting all of your power to the rear axle.

Why is my Honda Ridgeline light not working?
I then drove to my local Honda Dealer, they ran the codes and said it was the oxygen sensor. Then they cleared out the codes and told me if it happened again it was an issue and it could cost as much as $400.00 to replace an oxygen sensor. He also said it could also be a wiring, not the sensor itself.

Why is the Check Engine light on on my Honda Ridgeline?
Got to the corner, turned off the engine and started back up again. The VTM light disappeared but the check engine light still on. Taking into the dealer to diagnosis — It’s going to be at least $100 for the diagnostics. Interesting how this happens just as the the 3yr/30k warranty runs out.
