Do you have to change synthetic transmission fluid?
Most manufacturers recommend replacing transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. If you tow, or do mostly city driving with constant changes of gears, it may be wise to change your ATF even more often.
Does the torque converter need fluid?
Instead of using air, the torque converter uses a liquid medium, which cannot be compressed – oil, otherwise known as transmission fluid. Automatic transmission cars use a torque converter.
Can a torque converter be flushed out?
A torque converter acts in an automatic transmission the way a clutch would in a manual transmission. Using high pressure fluid to couple the engine and transmission, the torque converter requires clean fluid to operate correctly. Flushing the debris requires an exchange of transmission fluid.
Can you change the fluid in the torque converter?
