What can I do about the clicking noise in the dash?
Behind the engine. If you lean over the engine you can see the cable where it comes through the firewall and operates a valve on a hose. Turn the heat knob all the way to hot to extend the cable all the way out and put a small amount of grease on the cable and rub in with your fingers. Don’t overdo the grease, a little dab will do ya. What’s the temperature driver on a Honda Odyssey?
Our 2007 Odyssey has ~14k miles remaining on the extended warranty, so I stopped by the dealer to have them resolve the issue. The dealer replaced the part, HONDA MOTOR ASSY., TEMPERATURE DRIVER (79160-SHJ-A41).
Why does my car make a clicking noise?
My guess is that the little motor that runs the cable was struggling with the sticky cable and chattering. Accidentally found/fixed the noise. I greased the cable for the heater valve where it comes through the firewall and the noise stopped. Found a thread here that briefly mentioned greasing the cable as routine and decided it couldn’t hurt.

Where does the clicking noise come from in my car?
I have recently started hearing a clicking noise (almost exactly like the noise a blinker signal makes) that is coming from behind the dash board on the passengar side of the car between the glove compartment and center console area. I can’t identify why it starts, but have noticed that it usually occurs when the a/c is turned off.
Why is my Fuse Box making a clicking noise?
This can be caused by a computer failure, resistance in the ground wire for the control side of the relay or high resistance in the power supply to the control side of the relay. To find out the source of the problem, you’ll need to run some quick tests using a multimeter.
