What was the issue with my Toyota Tacoma?
Originally the truck had an issue for misfires. (P0300, P0302 & P0303) Owner did spark plugs on it. Drove it for readiness cycle, CEL came back on for cylinder 1 (P0301). Brought the the truck to a Toyota dealer (not the best). They told him it was a coil pack.
What does acceleration feel like on a Tacoma?
It feels very similar to a misfire, but without the sound a misfire normally makes and it’s not consistent. Its more of a thrusting/surging feeling as if it is accelerating normally, and is if i for a second lifted off the accelerator pedal, and then mashed on the pedal again, and then repeats several times like a rocking chair.

Local shop did a belt and bent the tone ring causing the fake “electrical” misfire but the engine timing is on point and the truck drive like normal. Bilstein 5100’s all around – Toytec/Eibach 112-620 Coils, Wheelers 5-Pack+Wheelers 2″AAL. 33×10.5×15 KM2s – Siped on Summit Racing 84-5883 rims with 3.750 BS. 4.88s. Demello HD round sliders.
