What is the torque on harmonic balancer bolt?

Registered. Most square taper crank arms should be 29 ft-lbs. That is pretty darn tight. As has been mentioned, if it came loose, the crank arm is likely damaged beyond repair already and needs to be replaced.

Yes, it is possible The bigger problem with over tightening a square taper is that crank arm can be deformed to the point where it will not stay tight. I always use a torque wrench when tigtening crank bolts to avoid over tightening.

The crank pulley bolt is loosened by turning counterclockwise. Keep in mind that the bolt is on at 135ft lbs of torque. If it has been more than 2-3 years since bolt last removed, then when you add the corrosion buildup to the equation, the bolt is most likely on at 200-250 ft lbs of torque.

The crank pulley must first be removed. A 15/16″ socket, three very long 8 x 1.0 bolts (pretty sure that is the size, some large washers, and a crank pulley pulley will be required. With the crank pulley removed mark the bracket where the old crank sensor is located so that the new sensor can be placed in exactly the same position.
