Why does my radiator keep losing fluid?
Disappearing engine coolant could be the result of a slightly cracked hose, a tiny hole in your radiator, or a water pump issue. It’s also possible for a coolant leak to develop inside your vehicle or to simply vaporize into mist via your defroster. Check the underside of your radiator for dampness as well.
Why is my car slowly losing coolant?
If your coolant level drops slowly and always has, you most likely are just losing coolant to evaporation. Blown head gaskets can also cause coolant to slowly get drawn into your engine causing a similar slow loss of coolant.
What causes coolant to leak from the radiator?
A defective radiator cap gasket will allow coolant to escape in the form of steam. The steam disperses inside the engine compartment. With high engine temperatures, the steam evaporates or moisture collects on the engine compartment firewall and fender wells. Coolant loss results, without obvious puddles signs.

How can I tell if my radiator has an oil leak?
Coolant is forced past the piston rings and enters the oil crankcase. The coolant mixes with the oil into a brown or cream-colored frothy consistency. The radiator coolant level will drop perceptibly, while the oil level in the crankcase will rise. At this point, signs of exterior water leakage will show.
