Can you get a full tank of gas in a Prius?
It is nearly impossible to get anywhere near a full tank of gas in this 2008 Prius. What is most interesting and disturbing about this issue is that Toyota noted this IS an issue and that there is NO fix for the problem. Here is the response from Toyota Corporate: We apologize with your dissatisfaction with the fuel tank bladder in your 2008 Prius.
Why is my Toyota Prius getting bad fuel mileage?
The washing, oil changes, tire rotations, and everything in between are all part of fuel economy. When we forget to service our Prius, this can lead to components breaking down and causing the car to drive poorly. Typically, a vehicle that does not operate well will also be one that drinks more fuel.
What should the pressure be on a Toyota Prius?
If you care about fuel economy you will check your pressure. The recommended pressure found inside the driver door jam is a starting point. That 32 psi is a decent balance between ride quality and fuel economy.
Is the Prius designed for better fuel economy?
Finally, the Prius is designed for two things; better fuel economy and a minimum of pollutants. These two items are not mutually incompatible, but they do affect each other and those effects need to be taken into consideration.
Why does my Toyota Prius not turn on?
After reconnecting the battery the car would now become ready but only drive a short distance on the electric motor and the gas motor won’t turn over at all. That’s were I am at now. Oh and the display screen has a big message on top that just says problem. So it will drive on the electric but the gas engine does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks again.
What happens when the gas engine won’t start?
The ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) is controlled by the hybrid system. When the computer sends a START/RUN command, a sensor checks to verify that the ICE is running after a short delay (less than a second). If the ICE is not running, a FAILED-TO-START error code is recorded, and the hybrid computer will not issue further START/RUN commands.
What’s the average gas mileage of a Prius?
With my Prius, the mileage normally varies between 46 and 57 mpg, with occasional excursions higher and lower. Let’s say I know that I have 10 gallons of gas. With the normal variation in mileage, that could mean 460 miles until empty, or 570 miles until empty, or something in between.
