Are parking lights same as running lights?
When your car is static, with your sidelights switched on, these become your parking lights. Some newer cars also have daytime running lights (DRLs) which are activated as soon as you switch on the ignition, and remain lit at any time when the sidelights aren’t in use and until you turn the ignition off.
When should you not use parking lights?

For instance, the California Vehicle Code states that a car should not be driven with parking lamps on unless they are being used as turn signal lamps or the headlamps are also turned on.
Can you use parking lights as daytime running lights?
The parking lights aren’t used at all. Whenever the car is running, the DRL’s are on, The only way to turn the DRL’s off is to put on the emergency brake. Below is a photo showing the dimmer DRL on the left and the regular low beam plus the parking light that you get when you turn the lights on.

Actually any position i put the lights on they dont work and i actually just noticed that my right rear parking light doesnt work either Many bulbs are dual filament, such as your turn signal bulbs, so they will light up for one thing but not for another when 1 of the filaments breaks.

So I just realized that the front running lights are not working. Turn signals work just fine, all the fuses are good, bulbs are good, no disconnected wires inside the fairing. Can’t finda ny disconnected wires anywhere – any thoughts on where to look?

Double check the fuse labeled “lights” in position 19 in the fuse box. The brake and turn signals runoff a different fuse.
