Is it normal for water to drip from under car?
In the vast majority of cases, water leaking from under a vehicle is usually condensation from the air conditioning system, or from the exhaust. If you see water around the rear of the engine compartment, it’s likely to be AC condensation. This is normal and is nothing to worry about.
What happens if water goes under your car?
If water enters the engine it can lead to bad things. If there’s water in your engine, it leads to compression issues because there’s no place for the water to go. If water enters your engine it can end up rusting parts out like your differential and then you’re not going anywhere.
Where are car drain holes located?
The most common location for drain holes is at the bottom of the doors. Since rainwater can seep in past the door seal, the drain holes ensure that water will not collect under the seal and go unnoticed. Vehicles often incorporate drain holes in other areas as well.
Does my car have drain holes?

The drains are located in a difficult to access area at the back of the engine. The plastic panel at the base of the windscreen usually has to be removed to access the top of the drains.
What happens if you put scuttle drains in your car?
If the scuttle drains block the water can backup and enter the cars interior through the air intakes. It took me along time to get the car dry again as the sound proofing material used under the carpet can absorb a lot of water and is hard to dry.
Why is there no drain on my windscreen?
Dirt (like sand, decomposing leaves and so on) can block the drain holes preventing water to clear from the plastic windscreen scuttle (or cowl) underneath the car’s windscreen.
Why is coolant draining out of my car?
When a heater core deteriorates due to corrosion, it develops pinhole leaks that allow engine coolant to drain out inside the cabin. Often the coolant drains out the same line as the AC condensation. But in some vehicles, the heater core isn’t located near the drain line.
