Where is shift solenoid A located?

Where is shift solenoid A located?

The shift solenoid is located inside the oil valve connected to the valve body. The shift solenoid controls gear engagement and gear shift. The engine control module or the transmission control module in the vehicle’s engine controls the shift solenoid electronically.

Does a shift solenoid throw a code?

Your vehicle’s onboard diagnostics system will throw code P0750 indicating a shift solenoid problem, P0753 for an electrical shift solenoid A fault, P0758 error code indicating an electrical problem with shift solenoid B, and P0977 if there’s a problem with shift solenoid B’s control circuit.

What happens when you have a bad shift solenoid?

A problem with one or more of the solenoids can cause a lack of pressure, resulting in hard, soft or delayed shifts. A failed shift solenoid can also cause transmission slippage, where your engine revs faster but the car stays at the same speed.

When to replace transmission solenoid in Toyota Tundra?

Transmission slipping from 1st to 2nd and then from 2nd to 1st it clunks into gear. After they finished checking it out I still have Check Engine Light but transmission is acting normal after driving 25 city miles. Instead of replacing the wire harness can’t the bad pins in the connector be replaced?

Why is shift Selenoid code tripped in Toyota Tundra?

Just got back from dealer. Shift Selenoid code tripped Check Engine Light. They want to replace the transmission wire harness and engine harness due to corroision and “a broken pin” $2300.00USD ($1300 parts, 10 hours labor). Transmission slipping from 1st to 2nd and then from 2nd to 1st it clunks into gear.

Can a transmission pin be broken on a Toyota Tundra?

That is nuts…although that is a personal assessment, coming from someone who would gladly tear apart and rebuild a factory wiring harness. Those pins shouldn’t be breaking. There is a very, extremely, astronomically high likelihood that the pin was broken by someone messing with a connector.

Why is there a code on my transmission shift solenoid?

Normally, a code is triggered on these solenoids when the resistance value of the coil goes “out of spec”. That indicates a faulty electrical circuit….which could be intermittent and therefore causing your shifting problem at various times, and thus setting the code. Get the manual book is a good idea.
