What does TRAC OFF mean on a Scion TC?
If both front wheels get stuck in fresh snow or mud, you may need to turn off both Traction Control (also know as TRAC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) so you can rock the vehicle to free it. To turn TRAC off, simply push and release the VSC OFF button. The “TRAC OFF” indicator light should come on.
Why is my Trac light on?
If the system indicates your tires may be slipping, the slip indicator flashes to indicate that Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and/or Traction Control (TRAC) are operating in order to regain traction. If the light stays on, it could indicate a malfunction in the TRAC/VSC system itself.

- Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position, but do not start the engine.
- Press the ODOMETER knob briefly until you see “TRIP A”
- Next, turn the ignition “OFF”
- Press and hold the Trip Odometer Reset button, and turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position.
How do you turn off the check engine light on a Scion TC?

What does it mean when VSC and Trac off lights come on?
Not open for further replies. My 05 xb just had the VSC and TRAC OFF light come on at the same time on the center console, Manual says take the car to the dealer if this happens, but is ok to keep driving. Does anybody know what this means? Can I fix it myself?
Why does the code come back after changing the O2 sensor?
This results in better catalytic converter efficiency and that is why the code stops for a while. It will come back when the carbon builds up again. So that is why changing the O2 sensor works as a band aid for the problem but it will come back and the dealer loves that.
