Does it matter what headlight bulb I use?
Each car has different lights and therefore requires different bulbs. Along with all of the different bulbs, there are also different fittings, depending on your vehicle make and model. A fitting refers to the shape and size of the base of the bulb in order for it to correctly fit your vehicle.
Are headlight lamps universal?
It is only the inside design and technology of the bulb which makes it different (and in the case of Night Breaker Unlimited, perform better than standard). For example, bulbs such as H1, H4 & H7 are all universal fittings.
Can I replace my headlight bulbs with LED?
No. High-quality LED or HID conversion kits will not damage your headlight assemblies or your vehicle’s power supply. However, cheap and low-quality kits can as a result of their high operating wattage amongst other things.

So all headlights burn out, but the 2010-12 Outback and Legacy fail at a much higher rate. Some owners have to replace them every other month and there’s a couple theories why. Subaru’s “auto mode” is much more aggressive than it has to be. A number of Subaru owners have said that the their “auto” lights are too sensitive.

When did the Subaru Legacy headlight burn out?
It also confirmed that Subaru was aware of widespread premature headlight burn out in its 4th generation Outback and Legacy. Owners who had previous repairs done were eligible for reimbursement with proper documentation. However, claims to the program had to be submitted by November 17, 2016.
