Why does my car AC get warm when idling?

Why does my car AC get warm when idling?

Your AC system is low on refrigerant. Since the AC compressor is driven by the engine, it doesn’t pump as much refrigerant when you’re at a stop or driving slowly. If the system is low on refrigerant, it will show up as AC blows warm at idle and blows colder when the engine is running at higher RPMs.

Why is my AC not cold when idling?

The condenser is primarily responsible for ensuring cool air from the AC vents. If the condenser has gone bad, it will not be able to process the freon and produce cool air. A broken condenser might malfunction when there is a cut back in power as when the car is idling or running the AC purely on the battery.

Why does my car AC stop blowing cold air when I stop?

Why does my AC stop blowing cold air when I accelerate?

Typically this occurs due to a bad vacuum check valve under the hood. During hard acceleration the AC door system loses vacuum, causing the doors to default to the windshield. This check valve keeps this from occurring. It is located under the passenger side of the hood.

Will a bad AC compressor affect the engine?

Will a bad AC compressor affect the engine? A bad compressor could affect the engine in your car. If your compressor’s pulley bearing goes bad, your engine can stall due to the stuck compressor or the serpentine belt may break affecting all the accessories moved by the serpentine belt.

Why does my Subaru stall at low idle?

What to do if your Subaru Legacy won’t start?

12 people found this helpful. to go along with what the previous guy said about the linkage, it know for sure if it is, when it won’t start, put it in nuetral (i’m assuming it’s and automatic) and try starting it. if it starts in nuetral then there is a problem with either the adjustment or the ‘nuetral saftey start switch’.

What causes a Subaru Impreza GC8 to stall?

All the sensors were appearing fine, we pulled out the throttle body and it was pretty gunked up. We cleaned that and the air box out and everything is running much more smoothly now, a steady idle at 750 RPM’s. Thanks again for your response, shaz. Not a problem, cleaning anything completely spaced my mind. Glad you figured it out though.
