The low fuel light is a compltly independent solid state sensor> Ir always works as opposed to the weirdness of the fuel gauge. I usually put a can of techron in my car once every 3 months to try and keep the gauge reasonably accurate. I have to go past E to get my light to come on. Only happened once, and I had a lil under 2 gal. left.
