- In a oil filter sandwich adapter plate. This is a plate with threaded holes in it for sensors, sending units, or plugs.
- Rear galley plug. This is simply a plug in the engine block that goes to a oil passage.

Why does the oil light come on on my Subaru Outback?
In reality, it seems like the light goes on slightly above that mark on some cars. Having too much oil can also cause the oil light to come on. As the crankshaft churns air into the oil, pressure will go down (because the air will compress instead of the oil).

When does the oil pressure light come on?
If it is an oil level light and not an oil pressure light, and you change your oil every 5k miles, one quart down in 2500 miles is not a big cause for concern. But if you were on a 3k oil change interval and the oil pressure light comes on at 1500 miles, then you have a serious problem.
